The Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, Korea, was the location of an animal incident that has gone viral. Two adult elephants raced the clock to save a drowning baby elephant from near death. The entire harrowing experience was captured on zoo cameras, and now the Internet is watching and re-watching the epic rescue video.
As the baby elephant is playing alongside the pool, something suddenly goes wrong. She slips, falls into the pool, and then she thrashes and splashes in distress.
The nearby adult elephants never hesitated. They recognized the emergency and immediately ran into the pool and over to the drowning baby elephant.
Each of the adults helped coax her to the pool’s edge, where she safely made it out. Once they emerged from the pool, they walked her far from the hazard. It was as if they were saying, “you’ll never be doing that again any time soon, little one!”
You can also see a third elephant nearby, ready to step into action if needed. Since elephants don’t learn to swim until they are a few months old, thank goodness the adults were there to save her. Watch the entire rescue video below.
