A man from Calaveras County, California, has been arrested after he threatened to kill his neighbor, and then allegedly shot and killed the neighbor’s dog for ‘barking excessively.’

The victim called the police to report that Anderson had been arguing with someone who was speeding outside his home, causing a lot of dust on their street.

During the argument, 60-year-old Roger Wayne Anderson got out of his trailer and shot and killed his neighbor’s dog with a handgun.

Anderson then pointed the gun at the dog’s owner and threatened to kill him as well, before fleeing in his truck.

Anderson surrendered to police the next day, and is currently being held on $1.2 million bail.

According to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, he Anderson faces felony charges of animal cruelty, discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, criminal threats and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
