Emaciated, matted, homeless, and left to die is how the folks at Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge describe a dog found discarded on the street like trash. The dog, whom they named Bear, was deliberately thrown from a car and suffers from severe life-threatening injuries. The savage who threw the dog from the car must be apprehended and brought to justice.

The refuge took to Facebook with the hope that someone might have information on “Bear.” They wrote, “After what appears to be a lifetime of neglect, this tiny unneutered male poodle was tossed from a vehicle in the area of 927 Market Street at approximately 1:30 PM in Paterson on Saturday.” The incident took place in Paterson, New Jersey.

He suffers from pelvic fractures, a herniated diaphragm, skin lesions, and a possible skull fracture. His blood pressure on arrival was so low that it wouldn’t even register on the machine. During surgery, there was a large tear found which penetrated into the dog’s chest cavity. Although the surgery was risky and difficult, Bear survived. The rescue group wants Bear to have every opportunity to live and have a healthy life.

“He is fighting for his life, but in a time of great uncertainty, sometimes it feels as if he is fighting for us all,” they wrote.

Anyone with information on the dog or any details related to the abuse is asked to contact Detective Richard Martinez at 973-881-3640. We are pulling for you, Bear, and sending paw prayers.
