Jessica Smith never thought she’d see her Siberian Husky again. Smith’s children were heartbroken when their dog, Bella, went missing one day. Despite all of their attempts to find Bella, they were never successful. One day, however, someone called Smith with some very puzzling news.
Bella originally went missing from Los Angeles, California, but she managed to find her way out of town. The traveling pooch found herself roaming the streets of Las Cruces, New Mexico some 700 miles from home.
College student, Juan Treto, found Bella and took her to a pet expo after caring for her for six weeks. While there, he discovered she had a microchip that revealed her true owner.
“I just honestly thought that we were never going to hear about her again,” Smith shared. “I mean, I’ve heard situations that have happened but not states away.”
The college student is happy he played a part in reuniting Bella with its owners. Congratulations on your reunion and thanks to the special man who helped make it happen.
