It’s every parent’s worst nightmare: their child goes missing and is nowhere to be found. That’s exactly what happened to a family from Sidney, Ohio, after their three-year-old toddler went missing.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area immediately. Once on the scene of the last location the child was seen, Deputy Bleigh and K-9 Bandit began looking for the boy.
Amazingly, within 10 minutes of starting their search at the front of the family’s home, K-9 Bandit located the child.
On their Facebook page, a celebratory update from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office stated, “This is exactly why we have dog units, watching this track you could tell very well that Bandit had the scent of the child and was well on his way to finding him. I would like to thank Frank and Bandit for a job well done and it was so amazing to watch this unfold.”
Police dogs receive training to perform duties such as this, and we congratulate K-9 Bandit for being a good boy and finding the missing child.
