When Mother Nature unleashed the wrath of Hurricane Harvey, a calf was left to fend for herself in the wicked weather. Abandoned by its mother, the sweet baby was left in the cold with no food and no one to help.
Fate had other plans for her. Texas residents, Tammy and Ren Canton, opened their home and hearts to other families, dogs, and now a baby calf.
They not only took the calf in, but they allowed her to hang out and bond with their dogs.
Though weak at first, the baby received nourishment, grew, and her personality emerged. The family reared cows before, but this was a first in taking caring of one from the newborn stage.
They named her Harveigh, and after the Hurricane. Tammy told The Today Show, “All of the dogs seemed to love her right away.”
The seven dogs of the Canton family now have an eighth member, a cow who thinks she is a pooch! She has grown, so she only comes in from her barn when its raining or cold outside. What an udderly amazing story! 😂
