Lots of people take naps with their pets on a regular basis. Imagine going out in the wild and taking a cat nap with a female cheetah. That’s exactly what Dolph C. Volker does when he visits his cheetah pal, Eden.
Volker has a full-time job and lives in the United States, but he saves up his money to take trips so he can volunteer with The Cheetah Experience, a non-profit conservation project dedicated to protecting and preserving the cheetah and other endangered and threatened species.
He admits being afraid to get too close to the cheetahs at first, but he fell in love with them. Eden warmed up to the man and they formed a bond of trust. On his YouTube channel, Volker shared, “The more she felt comfortable with me, the more she treated me just like another Cheetah which included the grooming, nibbling, biting, pacifying, purring, laying on me, and sleeping… cuddling up close to me.”
One day, 50 kids all under the age of eight stopped on a tour to see her. Volker says she went “berserk” and couldn’t decide which one to hunt. He says that ultimate trust is nurtured when you can sleep with an animal.
Okay, buddy, we do recommend you sleep with one eye open. Watch this incredible human-animal bond in the video below.
