When babies are little, they first learn to roll, then lift themselves up a bit, and eventually, they crawl before they stand upright and walk. Babies who share a home with a dog are blessed because the dog will often teach the little one how to do things. When a little infant recently tried crawling around a room in his home, he struggled a bit to get going. The family dog, however, stepped right up to show the baby how it’s done.
Thankfully, the baby’s mom filmed the endearing clip and posted it online for dog lovers to see. In the video, the dog realized the infant doesn’t know how to walk, so he shows the baby how to crawl instead. Each time the dog does a commando-style crawl, he peeks over his shoulder to see if the baby is watching. Most adorably, the dog crawls and looks at the baby as if to say, “Okay, sweetheart, now it’s your turn to try!”
Just like a pro, the baby looks at the dog and starts imitating the crawling behavior! Dog lovers melted at the sight of the smart dog teaching the infant, and they shared comments on Twitter. “It seems that animals are a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for. Wonderful,” @DufferRoy tweeted out. @Itis_Spring chimed in by saying, “And this is the reason why a dog is a Man’s best friend.”
Once the infant picks up on the dog’s nonverbal cues and tries to crawl, the dog shows the baby once more. He does the cutest little canine crawl, and the baby lights up brighter than a Christmas tree with a big smile on his face. Dogs are truly amazing beings who have such a positive influence on the lives of people of all ages. Watch this precious video below.
