It’s every dog owner’s worst nightmare: their dog is in danger and they are helpless to do anything about it. That’s exactly what happened in Gagarin Park in the town of Simferopol, Crimea. A dog fell through a pond and without someone to rush to his aid, his demise was inevitable.

When the dog fell through, he panicked.  His danger of drowning or succumbing to hypothermia increased with each passing moment.

Some folks are superheroes but they don’t wear capes. This is the case with the kind soul, Maxim Salomatin, who saw the dog struggling and jumped into the frozen waters to save him. He’s a real-life Super Man!

As an onlooker videotaped the scary rescue, you can see the good samaritan lower himself into the icy waters. He swims out to the dog and guides him to the pond’s edge, both going ever so fast.

Both rescuer and dog made it to the edge, at which point Maxim grasped the dog and ran up the riverbank’s incline.
