A 13-year-old Golden Retriever in Ulysses, Kentucky, had been missing for five days when Darrell Perkins heard his sister’s dog howling by the river. He went to find out what was going on, and that’s when he saw it: Ginger was stuck in a muddy riverbank and unable to move. He immediately called the dog warden for help.
Ginger was so thankful that help arrived. The two men used a harness to place around the dog and lift her out of the mud before trying to scale back up the slippery bank. The dog was clearly running out of energy and could’ve ended up drowning if the men didn’t show up when they did.
Thanks to these heroes, Ginger is now safe and sound at a local animal hospital and expected to make a full recovery! Watch the video of the Golden Retriever’s rescue below.
