JustFoodForDogs just issued a voluntary recall of its cooked frozen dog food due to possible contamination with Listeria Monocytogenes bacteria.

The recall happened when a customer reported that her dog got sick after eating JustFoodForDogs’ Turducken special. After the customer’s call, JustFoodForDogs initiated testing on the Turducken special, revealing that there were Listeria Monocytogenes in the company’s human-grade green bean supply. JustFoodForDogs has recalled all recipes that contain green beans.

Exposure to the bacteria may not affect healthy dogs but owners should still avoid exposure at all costs!

Signs of exposure include vomiting and diarrhea. Elderly dogs and dogs with compromised systems are at a higher risk for complications. However, severe symptoms are NOT common from this bacteria. Nevertheless, don’t risk it!
