Finding herself hooked up to a ventilator and paralyzed from the neck down was a traumatizing thing for Memphis to open her eyes to, yet she endured it all like a brave warrior. But after weeks of misery, she finally found a real reason to smile again – all thanks to a Golden Retriever puppy named Juliet!

When “Chasin A Dream”, a local charity group, heard about Memphis’ misfortunes, they reached out to her family to see if they needed help. That’s when the group learned about the sweet girl’s love for dogs. They immediately contacted a local rescue, and picked Juliet to be Memphis’ new companion.

Juliet and Memphis magically bonded within seconds of their first meeting. The mere presence of the puppy was enough to make her forget her pain, and they began cuddling together for hours every single day. With their love blossoming over the weeks, it was decided that Juliet would train to become Memphis’s service dog.

For the next one year, Memphis will receive intense physical therapy while Juliet will train with an experienced trainer to respond to her little human’s needs. According to the doctors, Memphis will most likely never walk again, and having a service dog who understands her is her best chance at living an easier life.
