It is a known fact that veterans who come back from a war-zone have a hard time adjusting to civilian life. For these brave soldiers, it feels like existing on an alien planet, as no one really knows the depth of the trauma they have gone through.

Veteran Kenny Bass found himself dealing with PTSD, TBI (traumatic brain injury), hyper-vigilance, and panic attacks after surviving an IED explosion in Iraq. As he struggled to align with civilian life, his medical adviser prescribed him to get a service dog.

Kenny’s VA benefits did not cover service dog assistance, so he went on to get Atlas the Wonderdog on his own account. Within a few days, Kenny realized that Atlas was no less than a miracle dog!

Atlas would not only pacify Kenny whenever he had a crushing nightmare, but he would also stand guard at his front door all night to make him feel safe and protected. With Atlas’ presence, Kenny wasn’t scared to interact with people anymore!

Kenny now dedicates all of his time towards “Battle Buddy Foundation”, an initiative that he founded to help soldiers like him have access to well-trained service dogs. This video is a short clip from a documentary called “From War To Wisdom”, that follows the journey of battlefield survivors.
