19-year-old Lawrence Graham, of North Lauderdale, Florida, grew suspicious that his girlfriend was with another guy when she wasn’t answering his calls or texts.

He then told her that if she wasn’t home by 10:30 a.m., he would kill her dog, Jordan, who he bought for her a year ago, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

When his 16-year-old girlfriend arrived at her Pompano Beach home, she saw flowers, her dog’s collar, and a note on her door step that read, “Coulda Made It RIP Jordan.”

As she got closer, she noticed a towel with a trash bag under it that was filled with her one-year-old Shih Tzu mix. His head and legs were sticking out of the bag, and an electrical cord was wrapped around his neck.

Graham told investigators that he was mad when his girlfriend wasn’t at her house, so he kicked the dog, slammed it on the ground, and put it in a trash bag.

The dog then made a hole in the bag while trying to escape, so Graham choked him, leaving him to die until his girlfriend arrived home.

“Thank God she didn’t come home, because who knows what he would have done to her,” Detective Sira Arroyo told the Sun Sentinel. “She’s traumatized by the situation. It was a dog that she had for a whole year and cared for and loved.”

Graham has since been arrested and faces six felony counts of animal cruelty. He is being held in the Broward Main Jail with a bond of $15,000.
