A sweet little puppy is recovering after she was found off of Main Street in Girard Borough in Erie County, Pennsylvania.

The poor Pit Bull pup, now named Luna, suffered a severely shattered shoulder as a result of a cruelty case.

The Girard Police Department arrived on scene to rescue the injured puppy from the streets.

The officer who responded to the call instantly fell in love with Luna and decided to not only foster her, but to permanently adopt her!

Although she will always have a permanent limp and may suffer from arthritis, surgeons at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Speciality and Emergency Center were able to save her leg!

She is now recovering well and is expected to be just fine.

“She will be loved and spoiled and never suffer again!!!” ANNA Shelter wrote on Facebook.

Luna’s previous owners, Katherine Thompson and Dylan Curtis, have been charged with Aggravated Cruelty Against an Animal, Torture of an Animal, Neglect of an Animal, and Falsifying Information to Police. They were arraigned and booked into Erie County Prison, where they are awaiting trial.
