The results of a new study have been released and they are likely to have dog lovers rejoicing and cat lovers hissing. According to this study, dog owners are a lot happier than cat owners.
Before the fur hits the fan, the percentages deserve a closer look. A total of 36% of dog owners reported being happy versus a mere 18% of cat owners.
The study is the General Social Survey—an annual survey conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago that covers a wide variety of topics.
Another interesting facet of the story reveals dog moms and dads are more likely to be married and own a home versus cat parents.
Also, more dog owners versus cat owners said they view their dogs as part of the family. Cat owners must be ready to cough up a hairball by now after reading this data.
Whether its the independent nature of cats, or dogs just simply showing their true personalities, this is one study that has social media buzzing with debate.
