The 18th Annual National Dog Show Presented by Purina, which aired on Thanksgiving on NBC, has crowned its winner: a bulky two-year-old Bulldog named Thor.

Whisky the Whippet, who won ‘Best in Show’ at last year’s competition, has officially handed over the throne to Thor, whose registered show name is GCHG Diamond Gold Majesu Pisko Bulls.

His handler, Eduardo Paris of Houston, Texas, was completely in awe when he heard Thor announced as the winner.

Paris shows Thor three to four times a month, and has been showing him since September of 2018. Since then, he’s won 27 specialties, but this win was the most special.

Thor made it to the final Best in Show round after winning the Non-Sporting Group. In the final round, he beat out Nick the Siberian Husky, Daniel the Golden Retriever, Blaine the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terier, Sophia the Old English Sheepdog, Bono the Havanese, and Maddie the Pharaoh Hound.

According to Best in Show judge Charlotte Patterson, the English Bulldog was crowned ‘Best in Show’ for his “outstanding overall attitude and presence.”

When Thor isn’t competing, he loves to play with his Chihuahua siblings. He may be chunky, but he is still very active and athletic. Of course, he also loves to sleep after tiring himself out.

Now that Thor has won this amazing title, it’s time to celebrate.

“I think I am going to have a beer and Thor will eat and sleep in my bed with me tonight,” Paris told PEOPLE.
