It is said that love is blind, and the story of Abi the No Eyed Dog, she is living proof. Abi is a little dog who was homeless and found wandering the streets in Seattle, Washington. A local rescue group took her in, and one woman in particular wanted the little pup. Abi is a dog who has no eyes.
Her new mom quickly discovered the dynamic doggo is full of spunk, energy, and loves to go on adventures. She never lets her lack of vision stop her or slow her down. Well, there’s more to this story than Abi and her mom.
In 2015, Abi’s brother told her about a blind Labrador Retriever in a shelter. The sweet dog needed a home. Once the woman heard about the dog, she knew she had to have him. She traveled all the way from Michigan to adopt him on the West Coast.
Named Duke, he quickly became part of the family. He also loves Abi, and the two dogs go on many adventures with their moms. They teach others that disabilities should not stop you from living your best life.
From hiking to water fun, these dogs are doing things that make them happy and not slowing down. Abi’s mom is so proud of her dogs, and we raise our sparkling water bowl to you! Happy adventures!
